Loftus Oval Preseason Working Bee 2026

The working bee for Loftus Oval will be on 15th March between 9 am and 1 pm.

Working Bee – Task List

⚽ Goal Setup

1. Assemble 6 new aluminium goals (on wheels)

  • Allow 2 people per goal
  • Tools required:
    • 5mm Allen key
    • Shifting spanner
  • Goals will include small Allen keys, but they are basic throwaways.
  • If you have a 5mm T-bar Allen key, please bring it along.

2. Secure new goals

  • Install chains and padlocks to lock up the new goals.

3. Fit nets to the main field goals

  • Goals must be set up on the field first.
  • Use ratchet tie-downs to secure the bottom of the nets.

Field & Grounds Work

4. Mark and paint field lines

  • Use string lines
  • 3 people required

5. Remove weeds from the goal cage

  • Bring gloves and rakes

6. Whipper snip drainage outlets

  • Locations:
    • Entrance to the goal cage
    • SE corner of the field
  • See the white-marked tree for the drain location
  • Please bring a whipper snipper

7. Prepare cricket pitch stump holes

  • Dig out holes
  • Install artificial turf inserts
  • Mow the grass edge around the cricket pitch

🧹 Clubhouse & Storage Areas

8. Sweep out the gear shed

9. General clubhouse clean up

10. Clean canteen cupboards

11. Clean and wipe out fridges

12. Wipe down bench tops

13. Seal tile/bench joint with silicon

14. Tidy the store room

15. Mop canteen and store room floors

16. Tidy the control room

17. Organise gear cupboards

18. Mop toilets

🧼 Deep Cleaning The Club Room

19. Remove all gear from the club room

20. Pressure wash club room floors (John and Barry to coordinate)

22. Pressure wash grandstands and BBQ area

23. Put all the gear back into the club room

🍖 BBQ Area

23. Clean BBQ

  • Check lighting switches and burners
  • Clean the BBQ fridge and BBQ area
